THE DUKES HIT THE SLOPES!!!

Up Hobble Creek Canyon there is a new "Snow Park." It has tubing hills, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and access for snow mobiles and 4 -wheelers to go up the canyon. Is is very well known that most of the Dukes hate this cold white season. They enjoy warmth and water mixed together. But we decided to try and make the most of this nasty season and head on up the canyon. Surprisingly, we found out, there is a lot of fun to be had!!!

Cheyanne, Allen and Shelby started out on the cross country skiing while Adison, Alex and Melanie headed to the tubing runs. Adison quickly became a dare devil and no longer wanted to go double with her mom. She wanted to go alone! She had no fear and actually refused to go down the "slow ones." Alex wanted to go over the mound built up to stop you from going to far. Luckily he wasn't able to accomplish this because Hobble Creek is right behind it.

After becoming quite board with the tubing hills Adi, Alex and Melanie went and got fitted for cross country ski's. Check out Adi above. She was awesome. Keep in mind she is only 3.

After falling just one time Alex was able to take off. By the time we were done he was begging to go down hill. He's amazing.

Allen was Adisons trainer. He got real good at picking her up and helping her out. He managed not to fall once.

This is Adi tucking like the instructor at the ski lodge taught her. I think she might be a natural. Next step is water ski's!!!!

At least the landings were soft and she was dressed real warm.

This is Shelby and Cheyanne in front of Jolley's Cabin. Allen has told a scary story about this place to us while we were camping in Jolley's camp ground. Ask him, I'm sure he would be happy to share it. But since then the kids have been deathly afraid of this place. Shelby and Cheyanne swear they heard noises coming from it.

Cheyanne is much improved from last year. She can go more than 10 feet without falling.

Isn't she so dang precious. She loved it so much. Tomorrow Allen is heading back up to ride the four wheeler up pump house ridge. The best thing is we had so much fun!!! You should try it out some time!!!
